Using the Helper Application
The retroreadhelper is a simple Windows executable which can be used as a "helper app" with any Windows browser.
When you download an epub from books.google.com, your browser will not recognize the .epub extension, and ask you what file you want to use to open it, or if you want to save the file.
You may already have an epub reader as your default .epub application, such as the Adobe Digital Reader, or you may have no epub reader application. In either case, assuming you have already downloaded the helper, you can browse from the save dialog to specify that you want to "open" the applicaiton with the retroreadhelper. (You may also be able specify if the browser should always take this action in the future.)
Of course, the helper doesn't "open" the file, but upon downloading, will automatically re-upload the file to retroreader.com for conversion and mailing to your Kindle. You will need to specify your username and password when you do this, although you can check a "remember" box to avoid this in future. (Your actual password isn't remembered, but a token which can be used by the helper to authenticate you.)
